Sorry these photos are all mixed up again. this blog is super user unfriendly.

our little camp sight

how awesome is the color of this water ?

these are the famous horizontal waterfalls.

Whhhhhooooooo hoooooo. 10 am baby and guess what. We are going on a 1.15 hours scenic flight around a group of island called the 1000 islands. We took off in our 6 seater plane and headed north. I cant describe the colour of the water to you. It is like an aqua cock tale that you would find in a fancy cock tale lounge. The islands were absolutely magnificent. Until, we flew over an island that had been ripped up by BHP in search of iron ore. These islands have iron ore purity of up to 90%. BHP and the government profited from the ore and the land paid the price. Then in 1994, when BHP were done with the mine, they dumped their equipment into the ocean and were later forced to build an ocean wall to contain the toxic pollution they had burdened the land with. The water here looks like something you could expect to find in a babies a nappy. On return to Cape Levique, we grabbed the snorkeling gear and made our way to the beach. The snorkeling here is just awesome. There were lightly coloured silver fish the luminous blue eyes. Zebra fish. Sea slugs which was a first for me. Oh I haven’t mentioned that the water in cape levique is about 27 degrees. No where near cool enough to have a refreshing swim. Dinner time brought us gourmet hamburgers and shitloads of mosquitoes. It was soooooo hot that I had to fill my hot water bottle up with ice water from the esky and strap it to my back when I sleep. Even then the water only stayed cold for about 2 hours. Good night to another great day.
